Who's next for Newcastle?

Will it be Bruce's turn? The Mike Ashley era.....

Come on down the time is right for another change at the helm for Newcastle.   This time it seems that if Bruce play's his cards right the job will be his!

We have been looking back over the past 11 years when their have been 10 changes at the top.  Some much better than others but most with a short time and in charge and also strangely for such a frustrated club during the 10 years 4 of the managers were back for a second attempt.  We understand big sam didn't fancy a second shot in charge.

It seems that Mike has a limited address book and keeps going back to the same names.  Maybe time for Alan to come back for his second tenure in charge?

So who have we seen at the helm over the past 11 years?

Rafa Benitez  (Mar 16 - June 19)

I think it is far to say Rafa was a success and did wonders for the club.  As an outsider I would say one that got away.

Steve McClaren  (Jun 15 - Mar 16)

Dumped Derby for his chance back in the big time and wow did he mess it up.  His results took the club down.  I am pretty sure no Newcastle fan would like to see Steve make a return.

John Carver  (Dec 14 - Jun 15)

He was manager for a short period in 2004 and also came in as assistant to Alan Pardew.  He took over from Alan when he was removed in December 14.  Kept them in the division but was not asked to stay.

Alan Pardew  (Dec 10 - Dec 14)

The longest serving manager during the past 11 years and actually pretty successful in terms of maintaining PL status.  Partner ship with John Carver seemed to work well.  Alan or Steve....who would you pick?

Chris Hughton (Jul 09 - Dec 10)

This was his second time in the past 11 years.  Got the club back into the Premier League but the powers the be didn't have the faith that he would keep them up.

Alan Shearer  (Apr 09 - Jun 09)

His only time in management when he took over the last five matches.  The writing was on the wall from a poor period with Joe Kinnear.  Alan's one and only attempt at management ended in relation.

Joe Kinnear  (Sep 08 - Mar 09)

What an odd choice.  That worked well didn't it?  Joe had not been in management for 5 years when he took on the role.  This was his last role in management.

Chris Hughton (Sep 08 - Sep 08)

Yes Chris appointed for.....three weeks.  Has the experience and done the job before...twice!

Kevin Keegan  (Jan 08  - Sep 08)

Take Sams words....never go back. A poor choice for Kevin.  Mesmerised by unfinished business I suspect. Walked out as did not like the structure with Joe in place.

Nigel Pearson  (Jan 08 - Jan 08)

He was assistant manager twice and believe it or not manager twice!.  Nigel was assistant to Sam and stepped in when Sam left.  Nigel got a whole two weeks under his belt!

I guess we will all be watching this space to see what happens next at Newcastle. I am not convinced they will find another gem like Rafa to take over.  Come on Mike let someone who wants success for Newcastle take over the purse strings.
