New Season 2021/22

New season and fans are back to stay...we hope

Footballwinners 2021/22 football season predictions

With the new 2021/22 football season about to start we make a pre season top tips.  We are focusing on the top two leagues in England, The Premier League and the Championship.  We have some big teams in League one looking to begin their way back to the top flight.  We will complete a review of League one over the coming weeks.

Premier League

Lets face it for most of us we only have one footballwinner this season.  It seems that Man City will follow on from where they left.  Looks like Grealish and Kane will be joining last years run away champs.

We see Chelsea running them close with a full season for Thomas and some good summer acquisitions.

Liverpool we have taking a distant third.  Better than the late run in for the 2020/21 season but someway off the pace of Man City and Chelsea.  We have picked Leicester for the final Champions League spot....think this might be heart over head!

  • Manchester City
  • Chelsea
  • Liverpool
  • Leicester

Relegation.....this as always is a tough one.  We have a few teams that have hung on in there for a few seasons and as we know the new boys always seem to suffer.  We have a couple of surprise picks for our bottom three.  We see Wolves suffering the loss of Nuno, Newcastle finally succumming and one of the new boys not making up the points....

Our three for relegation:

  • Wolves
  • Watford
  • Newcastle

Championship

The championship is always a tough one to predict top and bottom.  As we saw last season all three of the relegated clubs did well with two managing automatic promotion.

We will go straight into our top three...obviously top two automatic and the third will have to hope they make it through the playoffs.

Our top three:

  • Bournemouth
  • Sheffield United
  • Fulham

Looking for those three that will fall out the Championship and into League one is a little tougher for us.

As with the Premier League we have a few surprises.  There are many candidates for slipping out the League this year.  For many a supporter we see this as a long season!

Our bottom three:

  • Huddersfield
  • Blackpool
  • Derby
