Slap Head Challenge – Update – we need more nominations!!

Well we are having so much fun trying to pick a goalkeeper that we have decided to wait another week before picking the keeper. Bruce Grobbelaar is the current leader – don’t’ just sit on it you need to vote for your favourite slap head goal keeper!! Everton's Tim Howard gets my vote - he is having a great season.

Last Minute Move for Slap Head Want be ..Defoe moves to Pompey

It is great to see Spurs have had a quiet transfer window – not!! Jermain Defoe was the last move of the transfer window; it seems that being dropped from the England squad was the nail in the coffin for Defoe who has moved to the south coast to play with Harry’s Pompey.

Slap Head Update

AFC Wimbledon has suggested that their centre half, Jason Goodliffe, should have been considered for Captain. We will consider him for the defence.

Other players put in the mix were Stuart Bimson, Dion Dublin, Frank Lebeouf and Simon Lee from Paul in Bedford!!

Great stuff we need more nominations from you the great British public!! E mail gazandpete@footballwinners.co.uk

Rangers in Administration

How can one of the top two teams in Scotland end up in Administration?  Why are football clubs so badly run?  There is so much greed in football this is why clubs like Rangers and Portsmouth end up in Administration.

I am a Bristol City supporter and I would hate to see my club in administration or go bust and disappear but why is it the football clubs are immune from normal business practices?  We are in a recession that has seen some well known, well loved brands disappear from our high streets, so why are football clubs allowed to continue.  It is about time the government stopped stepping in and allowed clubs to go bust and disappear.  That has to be the only way to get the message out to the rest of the operators of the football clubs that this is a business and must be run like one.  Need to learn to balance the books and stop paying ludicruios wages to average players.

I don't want to see anyone's club go bust but at the same time this nonsense must stop.
